I am what I am

This week I read a blog post by Fat Mum Slim about what makes her "Chantelle". You can read her post here. I have been thinking about it all week, as lately I have been trying to figure out who I am and what I want. So here goes. This is {part of} who I am.

  • I LOVE my boys unconditionally and will do anything for them even though they push me to my limits
  • I am extremely impatient. I always have been. If I see something I want, I want it NOW! The same with an idea, if I think I want to do something, I want to do it NOW!
  • I am not as confident as people seem to think I am
  • I don't like the way I look
  • I am precious about keeping my hair long, but I always tie it in a scruffy bun
  • I find it hard to say NO to people
  • I am always trying to make others happy, but seem to forget about myself
  • I LOVE to eat

  • Even though my boys are my life, I find being a Mummy challenging, hard, thankless and exhausting
  • I shout more than I like
  • I am a daydreamer
  • I hate confrontation
  • I would eat Mexican food everyday if I could
  • I am lazy
  • I am always homesick for my "home" in America, I miss my friends dreadfully, especially Erin and Leisa
  • I wish I were more creative and arty
  • I carry guilt and don't find it easy to forgive myself
  • I LOVE champagne
  • I would love to write a novel, but I don't have any ideas of what to write about or how to even start {pretty bad for a teacher who has to teach story writing as part of Literacy lessons}
  • I am addicted to social media;)

I'm sure I am more complex than that short list, but these are the things I could think of this week. I am working on changing some of it, although at 36 I think I am too old to change somethings about myself. I just need to work on accepting who I am, and liking me for me.

  1. I would eat Mexican food every day too! I'm not sure it defines me, but it does define my hips - hahaha! Great post!
